Web Print/My Print Center Errors
Known Errors
Initialization Error:
A common error with the Web Print client occurs when an user has not initialized their account.

The "Script 'BYU Billing – MyPrintCenter': name "sTrack2": 'sTrack2' is not an initialized variable" error
To initialize your account, swipe your ID card at any Express Print station on campus and then try signing in to the Web Print client
Re-Initialization Error:
A common error that occurs when a user attempts to sign in to the Web Print client after updating their BYU ID card.
"The Payment Gateway returned an unknown error when retrieving your balance. ID card not valid"
Resolved by re-initializing the user's account with the new ID card, and then attempting to sign in again.
Print Failed Error:
Sometimes when printing a file uploaded to My Print Center, the printer remains unresponsive and after a few minutes a notice is displayed in My Print Center that the print has failed.

The "[Free Print] ... Printing Failed" Error
Not all .pdf files are created equal; some programs generate .pdf files that are more complicated than others (especially forms like tax forms, documents with a lot of legalese, or multiple embedded images). Due to limitations with the Pharos Print server, these .pdf files may fail to print when uploaded to the server directly from the Web Print client or from the drivers. To get around this:
- Open the PDF using a web browser (such as Chrome or Edge)
- Select the print option. Then under "destination" choose "PDF" to re-save the file as another new, 'flattened', PDF file.
- Submit the newest PDF file for printing.
